About This Course

This CLE course will offer a step-by-step review of the proper techniques and strategies for litigating these cases including how to evaluate the claims, selecting parties to name as defendants and the critical role of experts. The course will also offer a complete overview of statutes such as the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987 (OBRA), NYS Public Health Laws and others which serve to regulate nursing homes as well as examples of common claims against them from personal injury due to neglect to intentional torts. The course will conclude with prevention tips for nursing homes to help them avoid having claims made against them.
