About This Course
Purchasing a home is perhaps the most confusing, time consuming, stressful and yet infrequent transaction your clients will face. As a result, most consumers don’t bother to delve too deeply into the nuances, and simply rely on their loan officer to protect their interests. This is a mistake. For a loan officer, home loans are a “zero-sum” game for the loan officer – the loan either closes or it doesn’t. They earn their commission, or they don’t. Loan officers therefore tend to stack as many applications into their crowded pipeline as they can, irrespective of whether their team can handle it. The end result is that consumers need to protect themselves, and not rely on their loan officers to do it for them.
This CLE course is designed for lawyers, whether they work directly or indirectly with clients. involved in a home purchase (real estate; financial services; family law; bankruptcy; wills & trusts; guardianship; small business; employment). Presented by a 10 year veteran of the industry, the course will ensure you can work with the pros and prepare your clients to protect their interests by knowing these levers that lenders are concerned with, as well as being informed of their respective rights and obligations.
