About This Course
This CLE course will explore the early influence of disparate classification of Native American cultures as well as how those classifications have impacted Native American interactions, jurisdictions and economics. The course will explain the legal issues still pressing as soon in McGirt v. Oklahoma, the constitutional issues raised in Brackeen v. Barnhardt, voting rights disenfranchisement and suggestions of eliminating sovereignty.
The course will explain how these issues are stunting Native American communities and will highlight foundations for cultural divisions that continue to impact the relationship between these communities and the federal and state governments they interact with.
