Thomas J. Kniffen
A former United States Air Force Judge Advocate [JAG], Tom was employed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for 20 years as an appellate attorney, representing VA before the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. Prior to his retirement in 2015, Tom was also Section Chief of the VA federal regulatory affairs office. In both positions, Tom’s responsibilities focused upon VA disability compensation benefits. He graduated from Boston College in 1975; Tom earned a JD from the John Marshall Law School in 1979 and LL.M in Administrative Law from American University in 2010. Currently Tom is a solo practitioner [The Law Office of Thomas J. Kniffen], focusing on helping veterans obtain VA disability compensation benefits.
