About This Course
Designed for both novice and seasoned attorneys alike, this CLE course will offer a basic overview to the ways in which Artificial Intelligence (AI) can transform legal tasks. Participants will be given the knowledge and perspective needed to successfully integrate AI into their work successfully, ensuring their practice remains competitive and relevant.
The course begins with a breakdown of AI and Machine Learning (ML), and explains each one’s practical legal applications. The course will then explain how AI can be used in legal tasks as well as which tools are most applicable for what uses. The course will introduce tools such as Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPT), and explore techniques to utilize them effectively to improve document drafting and research capabilities. Employing real world examples of AI’s ability to optimize client management and paperwork, the course will illustrate the potential of AI to dramatically increase efficiency in any legal practice.
The second part of the course will explain the many ethical and legal implications of using AI in law, and the importance of attorneys using caution in its application, particularly with regards to machine bias and accountability. The course will conclude with a discussion of the learning strategies and mindset shift that needs to take place to truly prepare for the role that AI is poised to play in the future.
