About This Course
Over the past year, college sports have undergone a significant transformation. The traditional model of amateurism is being challenged through antitrust lawsuits in the courts and actions by the National Labor Relations Board ("NLRB").
The era of professionalized major college athletics is approaching, bringing new challenges and uncertainties for various stakeholders. In the realm of professional sports, the legal and business landscape is dominated by team sales, a fragmented media rights market, and ongoing issues related to team relocations.
Additionally, international sports are increasingly intertwined with politics and human rights concerns. This CLE course will delve into these issues, examining antitrust litigation, labor law, tax law, investment regulations, and other facets of the complex and evolving legal environment in sports.
