Thomas C. Caldwell, Esq.
Tom is a Principal in Promontory’s privacy and data protection team. Tom utilizing previous work as the main contact for a Data Protection tool for high level indication of the privacy and data protection risk for a Multinational Bank, has assisted in the building of a similar tool for another top International Bank. The Data Transfer tools provide first instance risk appetite for every jurisdiction in which the banks operated. Tom provided support in its completion, maintenance and integration with other tools within the bank. He also planned and executed an internal international data transfer gap analysis with remediation efforts.
Prior to joining Promontory, Tom gained extensive experience managing large and small scale legal projects, regulatory response and eDiscovery, involving government regulators such as the Department of Justice (DOJ), the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC) and Canadian Competition bureau. Tom has also assisted in the legal research for multi-state actions against a US lending company. He also has experience managing an internal regulatory compliance investigation and remediation for a large US banking company.
