James W. Smith, III, Esq.
James Smith is an attorney in private practice in Orlando, FL. His practice focuses primarily in the area of federal and state criminal defense. James is a graduate of Hampton University and Duke Law School where he obtained a joint degree in law and political science. J.D./M.A.
James served on active duty for eight years as a commissioned officer and lawyer in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. After leaving the Army James served as an Assistant Professor of Law at the Florida A&M University College of Law where he taught numerous classes including Criminal law, Criminal procedure, Trial practice, and Evidence.
James is on the faculty of the National Criminal Defense College. James also regularly lectures on subjects relating to criminal law and trial practice at national seminars for organizations such as the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and various state bar associations.
