About This Course
NCAA v. Alston, one of the most significant sports law cases of our time, rejected the NCAA argument that restrictions on educational compensation were entitled to antitrust deference. In its 9-0 opinion, they upheld the district court and 9th Circuit Court of Appeals injunction and concluded that these restrictions were in violation of the Section 1 of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act.
This CLE course will review the case history, the court’s decision and the potential impact of the concurring opinion of Justice Kavanaugh and how it shapes the future of the college sports model post-Alston.
