The Marijuana Regulation and Tax Act legalized cannabis in New York. Cannabis advocates successfully fought for the inclusion of home cultivation in the new law against the lobbying of the New York Medical Cannabis Industry and other trade groups.

Since then, the cannabis industry has expanded exponentially, and while home grow does not get the attention of more commercial methods, it is one of the industry’s fastest growing sectors.

This CLE course will review the laws that apply to home cultivators of cannabis including how many plants can be grown, where and what security restrictions growers are required to implement. The course will also increase your knowledge of the cannabis plant, methodologies for growing it and how companies can help this market by selling seeds, clones and other materials. The course will also address suggested improvement to the law which would expand access to cannabis plants for those most harmed by the war on drugs as well as for patients requiring access to the medicinal properties of the cannabis plant.
